Great Game!

I am wondering, how do I set up a game with 10 battleships! vs 10 battleships!

That would be a slugfest...!

In thinking about this, if an editor does not exist, if anyone supplies me with the file layout (of the saved game), if the program author wishes, I could easily develop a basic editor. I would love to see 10 battleships face 10 battleships (each with say 3000 points).

Hi kpb,

It's not as easy as it sounds as things are randomly generated at the moment. I'll have to look into it, but not just now (too busy).

Editor, etc

Andrew :)

I hear you. Given the choice between an editor for Battleship Chess (an excellent game, btw) and a new game, Starship Kingdom, I'd say focus on the new game.

Given the Battleship's ability to resume a saved game, I was thinking that the saved game file format must include:

1. the list of all ships on each side.
2. the status of each ship (destroyed, active, inactive, points left, position)
3. the turn #
4. whose turn it is.
5. the cards owned by each side, unplayed.
etc.

If the file layout is made available, using a basic search/replace hex editor type thing, taking an initial (unplayed) saved game, then replacing all ships with battleships etc, would probably be fairly easy for someone to do.

However, I defer to your expertise. You have created a great game. I've purchased it some time ago, and play it almost every day after work: sort of a short "unwinding" process.

I'm looking forward to your next game: Starship Kingdom!

Regards,

-Kevin
