Just curious

Just a little curious to know if there is a way to change the color of my ships their always the white superstructer with the green waterline, not to bad for the royal navy but when i play the Kreigsmarine would be nice to have the black with red.

There's no in-game method to do this but you can switch the colors around by switching the bitmaps around in the data folder (bb.bmp <=> bb1.bmp, bp.bmp <=> bp1.bmp, bc.bmp <=> bc1.bmp, ca.bmp <=> ca1.bmp, mm.bmp <=> mm1.bmp, dd.bmp <=> dd1.bmp, ss.bmp <=> ss1.bmp) .

If you're interested, I could write a simple bat script to do it, but you'd need to run it before you run the game (only once, though, if you don't want to keep switching back and forth).

Would be nice if each fleet had it's own seperate bitmaps. One set for Russia, one for Japan, one for US, etc, etc. You could even just use copies of the current bitmaps and let us do the repainting.

It would also be really nice if the music was replaceable in the game. I'd like to be able to drop music from Tora, Tora, Tora or Harm's Way into the place of the current music.

That would be a lot of bitmaps to paint, but it is doable.

As for music, I'm using the ogg format so dropping in other songs would be difficult. You could always play it on an mp3 player and turn off the game's music.

Here's the script (.bat file) that will swap the red and green ship sides. Just run it before running the game.

http://www.apezone.com/install/BCswapShips.bat

I suggest you right click on the link and "copy link as"/"save target as" so you get the file and not the contents of the file. Copy the file into your Battleship Chess folder to run it.

Yes, you can replace all the ogg files, as long as you use the same names.

But no add a file? So it would have to be song 1 or song two only.
